™ System: custom formulations

The next component of our plusLINK™ system is the creation of a custom formulation. Formulas are created exclusively for you, dependent upon, your asphalt, polymer, and classification of chemical desired.

PlusLINK™ custom formulations: laboratory

Our laboratory will evaluate samples of the polymer that you designate, your base asphalt and the desired PG or PG-plus specification.
The base asphalt will be tested to establish a starting point.
Multiple formulations are made up of polymer, asphalt, and plusLINK™; these formulations are produced in the lab and then tested to your specifications.
This process is repeated until the desired test results are attained and the most cost-efficient formula has been optimized.

All testing is performed in our fully-accredited performance grade asphalt binder laboratory.
Our chemists and laboratory technicians evaluate all test results.

Samples of plusLINK™ are available to you for your own evaluation of our formula.

PlusLINK™ custom formulations: field trial

Once a formula has been established, we suggest having a field trial at your location. This is done to ensure that our formula will produce a cost-effective, quality product for your pavings and pavement maintenance.
Enough plusLINK™ to produce a small batch run is sent to your facility.
Asphalt Enhancement representatives will be on site to assist you with your polymer modification production system. We will help you monitor production variables such as plant temperature, rates of addition and mixing time.
Representative samples are taken from the field trial production run and are sent to Hudson Asphalt Laboratories for a complete evaluation. The samples will be tested in accordance with your specifications along with a physical analysis. All test results will be available for your review.
