Our plusLINK™ cross-linking agent is used to chemically link asphalt and polymer to create a completely stable and homogeneous paving product. The result is chemically-modified polymer asphalt that has improved performance characteristics over PMA that is not linked and produces material with enhanced Performance Grade (PG) and PG-plus specifications.
Advantages of using our plusLINK™ cross-linking agent:
- Compatible with most polymers and base asphalts
- Whether it be SBS (linear, radial or block) or SBR, our plusLINK™ system will work.
- Reduces polymer loading
- PlusLINK™ will create a strong link between asphalt and polymer, so you wil not need as much polymer to achieve the desired PG specification.
- Improves reaction time
- PlusLINK™ is a powerful chemical compound which promotes a rapid reaction between the polymer and asphalt, shortening reaction time from 24 hours to as little as three hours.
- Your product can be available for sale within the same day of production.
- Concentrate availability
- The amount of plusLINK™ that is used is not dependent upon the desired PG or PG plus specification.
- The same amount is used whether you need to modify a PG 64 to a PG 70 or a PG 64 to a concentrate.
- Concentrating PMA enables you to produce multiple batches of PG PMA binder from a single batch of concentrate.
- Your concentrate batch can become several batches in a tank at your facility or it can be transported and letdown at other facilities, reducing freight costs.
- Storage stable
- Because the link created between polymer and asphalt by plusLINK™ is strong, it promotes stability, ensuring little to no separation.
- Long-term tank storage of PMA modified with plusLINK™ is not a problem.
- Time and money – The many advantages of using plusLINK™ share a common theme -- the savings you'll see in time and money, due to:
- Compatibility – works with a wide range of polymers.
- Reduction in amount of polymer used.
- Shorter reaction time, resulting in cuts in production time and increased plant efficiency.
- Concentration of end product - cuts transportation and storage costs.
